The film & television production companies deliver films after the completion of the films which is a very long process and it takes many efforts to make and deliver the film. It is very easy to watch the movies at home and on the internet but it is very difficult to deliver them in the cinemas. In the past, the movies are sent into film rolls in the movie theaters but now the methods have been changed totally. The theater owners used to project the film rolls and they had to return them to the film owners. The theaters that are in small towns and areas they are given the film cans via the FedEx or any other company. Today, all the theaters use the digital technology for displaying the films on their screens.
The Delivery Of Feature Films are sent in the hard disks, CD’s, and the satellite links are also used for this purpose these days. The format for these movies is set to be DCP which is known as digital cinema package. This format does not support by the traditional projectors. The theater owners have to get the digital equipment for showing these films in their theaters. Digital equipment is expensive than the traditional equipment. The size of the film disks can be heavy in between 90GB to 250GB. The digital cinema package has to be encrypted first, and then it is decrypted by using a special key which is given on the internet or the filmmakers provide them. The filmmakers decide the valid time period for using the key for the screening of the film in the specific cinemas.
If the theater owners want to screen the movie for some more time, then the filmmakers give them a new key for screening the movie until the period they have made the contract. When the time period will end, they have to get the keys again and again for the screening of the films in the cinemas. The film rolls were used to be stolen and misplaced but the hard disk has the capacity to be kept secret until the film is released in the cinemas. If the film roll has been released before the film release in the cinema, the filmmakers have to bear a huge loss because the duplicate copies of the film can be found in the market at a cheap rate. That is why the security of the film rolls is considered to be very important.
